Above is a description of what we thoughts we would see.....unfortunately, because of the government shutdown, Acadia National Park is closed to visitors......we really didn't get to see much. It wasn't the fault of the tour company. They had to improvise. Bar Harbor is a quaint little town that is very busy during the summer months. Today, there were 2 ships in port so everything was a little crowded. Apparently, there was a storm last night and a lot of the leaves were blown off the trees so a lot of the color was gone.
This is the one "tender" port on the cruise.
The Summit from the tender.
We basically had a tour of the island with a few stops for pictures. The guide was very informative about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The scenery was beautiful but not the same as getting in to the park.
Walking down to the sand bar that leads to Bar Island
Can't really see it...but that's Martha Stewart's house. She didn't invite us in for a drink!
Stewman's Lobster Pound. Great lunch....Charlie again had a beer!
